About Me
Hello and thank you for checking out my portfolio! I am a strategic communications professional specializing in community and public relations. I graduated from Iowa State University in May 2024, double-majoring in Public Relations and Political Science. This dual background allows me to combine rigorous policy understanding with effective public engagement strategies. I am currently working towards my Masters in Digital Marketing Communications with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026.
My post-graduate experience at Burns & McDonnell as part of the Stakeholder Management Solutions team has been incredibly hands-on, deeply developing my skills in community and public relations. I partnered with various utilities on infrastructure projects across the United States, where I was responsible for:
-
Developing in-depth communication plans that not only met, but exceeded state requirements.
-
Managing public events (both in-person and virtual) and handling all communications with impacted community members.
-
Assisting with grant applications and other critical project support.
Additionally, my college career included internships with LifeServe Blood Donation Center (Public Relations/Marketing), the Catt Center for Women in Politics (PR/Event Planning), and Johnson County Parks and Recreation (Recreation Intern).
My commitment to leadership was evident throughout my time at Iowa State. I served in multiple officer roles in my sorority, including Corresponding Secretary and Standards Chair, and held key organizing positions like Homecoming and Greek Week General Co-Chair. Furthermore, I acted as the Crew Director for the larger Greek Week Central planning team, served on the Judicial Board for the Collegiate Panhellenic Council, and worked as a tour guide for Student Admissions Representatives.
I hope that as you look through my portfolio, you gain a clear sense of who I am, the skills I possess, and the commitment I bring to strategic, ethical public relations.
